Serious question, my 8 year old asked me why we call it 'ask anything' if some questions are rude and it completely threw me.

That's actually a really smart question from an 8 year old. The "anything" part is more about the range of topics than a free pass to be mean. It's like how having free speech doesn't mean you can just yell hurtful things at people. Some questions are rude because they ignore someone's feelings or privacy, not because the topic itself is off limits. Figuring out that line is just part of learning how to talk to people.

Heard a teacher say we should teach kids the difference between curious questions and loaded ones. It's not about banning topics but showing how your intent changes the impact. That framing helps more than just calling things rude.

Honestly, that's a lot of deep thought for a kid just asking about the name of a game.
