I stacked 50 frames of the Orion Nebula with free software and it beat my old single shots from a year ago.

Yeah, stacking really is a game changer... the noise just melts away.

Totally agree with you @davidshah. It's like magic for cleaning up a shot. Makes such a huge difference.

Did you use DeepSkyStacker or something else? That program worked wonders for my first stacked shot last year.

Just tried stacking for the first time last week. Couldn't believe how much cleaner my Andromeda shot looked.
