Pro tip: An old painter at the shop told me my clear coat was too thick

He said I was putting on three heavy coats instead of two medium ones, which was causing solvent pop on a 2022 F-150 hood I was working on. I switched to lighter passes and haven't had the issue since. Do you guys have a specific mil thickness you aim for with your final clear?

Honestly that's just how most things work, too much of a good thing can mess it up.

My grandma's garden shows some things just get better the more you give them.

Yeah but that's not really true for everything. Some things do just get better with more, like time or practice. It's more about knowing what actually benefits from more input versus what has a limit. Lucas is right about a lot of stuff, but it's not a rule that works for every single thing.
