A retired tech from Dayton said he used to diagnose weird electrical issues by feeling for heat with his bare hand before pulling out the meter.
He argued that sometimes your senses can point you to the problem area faster than a scan tool, which made me try it on a 2012 F-150 with a parasitic draw, and I found a warm relay in under a minute.

Totally works lol. Found a bad blower motor resistor that way, the thing was almost too hot to touch. Old school tricks still have their place for sure.

Oh man, that "too hot to touch" thing is a dead giveaway! I had the exact same thing happen on my old truck. The blower would only work on high, and sure enough, that resistor pack was cooking. @kai_foster, it was a real common issue on those older Ford pickups. You just can't beat the simple touch test for a quick check before you start throwing parts at it.
