Local shops ditching paper manuals for good, and I'm not sure it's smart

Just saw my third shop this month toss all their printed service guides in the dumpster. Everyone's saying to just look everything up on a computer now. But what happens when the internet goes down or a system crashes? I've had to dig out old books twice this year to finish a job. Feels like we're trading real knowledge for a quick search.

Mechanics in Maine still swear by paper backups.

Honestly, 'swearing by paper backups' sounds like more hassle than it's worth. Digital systems have their own backups for when the power goes out. It's not the end of the world if you rely on tech sometimes.

Paper might seem old school, but it's actually more dependable during Maine's frequent power outages. Digital tools can fail when you need them most, so having a physical copy is key. Mixing both methods just makes practical sense.

Wait, they're tossing them? Even Maine...
