Found a complete run of the 90s 'Spider-Man 2099' series at a flea market in Albuquerque for $2 an issue.

Honestly, everyone says to use Upwork but I found a local job board in my city that got me way better gigs last quarter.

I made a jacket with regular cotton and then with a waxed canvas, the difference was huge.

The cotton one looked fine but got dirty fast and lost its shape after a few wears. The waxed canvas version from a project last fall still looks sharp and handles rain without a problem. Anyone have other tough fabrics they like for outerwear?

Showerthought: I got a 2005 Civic's stuck caliper bolt out with a can of Coke and a breaker bar after 3 hours of fighting it.

The bolt was seized solid, so I soaked the threads in the soda for about 20 minutes, gave it a few taps, and it finally broke loose, saving me from having to drill it out. Has anyone else used a weird household item to get out of a mechanical jam?

I was laying down a thick property line on a site plan and pressed a bit too hard. The lead shattered inside the clutch and jammed the whole mechanism. Anyone have a good trick for clearing a jam like that without wrecking the pencil?

I've been fixing planes for fifteen years, and until last year, our whole shop used thick paper manuals that would end up greasy on the wing. Then the boss gave us all tablets, which I hated at first because of oily gloves and dead batteries. But after some time, I adapted. Zooming in on drawings or finding part numbers fast is a big help, and updates come right away. I still have a soft spot for paper, but this is clearly the direction things are going. Wondering how other shops are handling the switch to digital.
