Hot take: I gave up on grass seed and switched my whole lawn plan to gravel and pots
For 4 summers I fought bare spots in my backyard in Tucson, watering twice a day and still watching it fry by July. Two springs ago I quit seeding and put down 3 yards of crushed granite instead, with a few big pots of lantana around the patio. My water bill went from about $95 a month to $48, and honestly the yard looks better than it ever did green. Anyone else in a hot dry area make the switch, and how did you handle shade for the pots?
