Question about a cheap patio umbrella from a big box store in Phoenix

The wind snapped the pole clean off during a monsoon last July, so now I just anchor the replacement with a cinder block and some nylon rope. Anyone have a better fix that doesn't look so janky?

Yeah because cinder blocks are famously known for their sense of humor. That wind must be having a real blast just chilling with some building materials. Honestly this is the kind of deep thought I expect from a Tuesday afternoon. Really makes you wonder who's laughing when the tornado hits.

Man, that monsoon wind is no joke... my neighbor lost a whole gazebo last season. I've seen people use those screw-in ground anchors meant for dog runs, then use ratchet straps instead of rope to hold the base down. It's a bit more work but looks cleaner than a cinder block just sitting there.
