Spent 3 hours trying to fix a clipper that just needed oil

Had a Wahl Senior that started sounding like a lawnmower yesterday. took it apart, cleaned out all the hair, put it back together, still sounded awful. Spent another 2 hours watching youtube videos thinking I broke something. Finally my coworker walks over and says 'did you try oiling it first?' I hadn't. 5 seconds with some clipper oil and it was fine. Anyone else ever waste a whole afternoon on something this dumb?

Man, I once spent a whole Sunday trying to fix a blender that just needed the base tightened. Felt like a genius when I figured it out.

A whole Sunday? For a loose base? Could've just bought a new one for what your time is worth. Sometimes taking the easy way out is the smarter move.
