Chat with a plumber who charges per fixture made me rethink my whole pricing approach

I was griping about a client who nickel-and-dimed me on a $450 rate, and this plumber said he just quotes per fixture like $150 each, no hourly confusion. It hit me that maybe I'm overcomplicating things by not bundling tasks into fixed chunks too. Has anyone else tried switching from hourly to project-based pricing and seen clients stop arguing?

Didn't your friend try that and end up losing money on a surprise garbage disposal replacement?

Oh man, that plumber sounds genius. Clients love a flat number.

Honestly, used to swear by hourly but that fixture breakdown actually makes a ton of sense.
