I finally got a stubborn freewheel off without swearing at it
Tbh, I'd been fighting this old Shimano freewheel for two weeks at the shop in Austin. One customer brought in a 80s road bike and just said 'take your time, I trust you.' Ended up using a bench vise and a long breaker bar, popped on the first try after 3 failed attempts. Has anyone else had luck with that method on seized threads?

Are you hitting it with heat at all before the breaker bar goes on? Seems like that old crusty locktite stuff always needs a little persuasion from a torch to really let go. I swear half the battle with those 80s parts is just convincing the rust to take the day off.
