Burned $150 on a so-called automated invoicing tool that double-billed my regulars

I signed up for this app called BillBee Pro back in March because the website promised it would save me 10 hours a week. First week it sent a client named Sarah two separate invoices for the same project. I thought okay glitch happens. Then it did it again to three more people the next month. I spent more time fixing errors than I did just sending invoices myself. Emailed support four times and got nothing back. So I cancelled after two months and lost $150. Anyone else fall for a billing tool that just created more work?

Automation tools always promise more than they deliver. I tried one for scheduling and it double booked me three times in a week. Ended up just going back to doing it manually.

Oh man, "promises more than they deliver" is the perfect way to put it. My buddy runs a small landscaping crew and tried one of those fancy scheduling apps. It kept mixing up addresses and sending guys to the wrong houses twice. He ended up having to drive around and fix the mess himself. He finally ditched the app and just uses a whiteboard and a phone now. Says it saves him an hour a day of frustration.

Completely feel your pain on this one. I tried a different app for billing my freelance stuff last year and it kept sending duplicate invoices to people with the same first name. It was a nightmare sorting out who actually owed what and who got double charged. I spent a whole Sunday afternoon just emailing clients apologizing and explaining the screw up. Support finally responded after I left a bad review, but by then I had already switched back to my old spreadsheet system. Honestly these tools act like they're saving you time but they just create new problems you gotta fix yourself.
