Net 30 terms cost me $1,200 last month with a flaky contractor

I had a contractor in Phoenix who paid on time for six months, so I gave them Net 30 terms on a $1,200 job. They ghosted me after I sent the invoice, no replies to emails or calls for three weeks. I finally drove to their shop and found out they shut down without warning. Now I'm stuck chasing a deadbeat through small claims court, and it's probably not worth my time. Has anyone else been burned by a long-term client suddenly going under?

$1,200 on a trust fall? I feel your pain, I once got ghosted for half that.

Man that stings even worse somehow, being ghosted makes the money feel like a total waste instead of just a bad purchase. Do you think the trust fall would've been worth it if they'd actually shown up?

Ugh, people take this stuff way too seriously. It's just money.
