I was dead wrong about True Detective Season 3
Everyone said it was boring compared to Season 1, but I gave it a shot last month after my buddy in Tucson kept pushing it. The way the time jumps weave together in episode 4 finally clicked for me. Has anyone else slept on a show only to come back and love it later?

Wait hold on, I gotta push back on this one. I really gave Season 3 a fair shot too, watched the whole thing, but it just felt like a lesser copy of Season 1 to me. The time jumps were cool in theory but they made it hard for me to get invested in any single storyline, you know? I kept waiting for that real gut punch moment like Season 1 had with Rust and Marty, but it just never landed for me. I'm glad it clicked for you, but I honestly think people who love Season 1 aren't wrong for calling this one boring.

like a lesser copy of Season 1" - @shane_morgan i get what you're saying but come on man. not everything has to be season 1, that's like saying every burger you eat has to be the best burger you ever had. season 3 was its own thing with its own slow burn and honestly the time jumps were the point, not a flaw. i felt more for wayne hays in one season than i did for rust and marty combined, that guy's story was actually sad and real. you kept waiting for a gut punch but maybe the gut punch was that life is just quiet and sad sometimes without a big explosion. season 1 is great but this whole "nothing compares" thing gets old.
