My buddy made me try a Korean drama and I went from skeptic to obsessed in 5 days

I always thought K-dramas were just over the top romance stuff, not my thing at all. Then my buddy told me to try Vincenzo, said it was more like a dark comedy crime show. I figured I'd watch the first episode to shut him up, but by the third one I was hooked on the weird humor and the crazy plot twists. I binged the whole 20 episodes in like 5 days, staying up way too late on work nights. What changed my mind was how different it felt from American shows, no filler episodes and every scene seemed to matter. Has anyone else been surprised by a genre they usually skip and ended up loving it?

Blew through Crash Landing on You in a weekend after swearing I'd never watch something so cheesy. Turns out I was the clown all along lol. Something about those cliffhangers just hits different, every episode ends and you're like "ok one more" then suddenly its 3am. American shows could never keep me glued to the screen like that, they drag stuff out too much.

You saying "American shows could never keep me glued to the screen like that" is a bit off though. Plenty of US shows like Breaking Bad or Homeland pack cliffhangers that'll wreck your sleep schedule too. Your mileage may vary, but I think it's more about finding the right show regardless of where it's from.
