Ran into an old coworker at the grocery store and he changed how I see procedural shows

I was grabbing dinner stuff at the Kroger on 4th street last Thursday. Ran into Mark, a guy I used to work with back in 2012. He told me he stopped watching shows like House or Law & Order because he realized they follow the same three act structure every single episode. He said it's like eating the same sandwich for years and acting surprised it tastes the same. Honestly never thought about it that way before and now I can't unsee it. Anybody else feel ruined by this kind of observation?

Yeah that stings. Once you see the pattern it's basically ruined forever.

Just step back for a bit and come at it fresh after a few days, it helps clear the fog.
