Our book club picked a 'modern classic' that cost me $45 and 12 hours I'll never get back
We voted on a new novel that had a ton of hype and a fancy hardcover price tag. I bought it, read the whole thing, and it was just a confusing slog with no real ending. Honestly feel like I could start a support group for people who bought that book. Spent the whole meeting nodding along while secretly wondering if I missed the entire point.
