Wasted $45 on that fancy book light everyone raves about
I bought that clip-on book light with the warm tone setting for my book club reads, but it died after three uses and the battery won't hold a charge. Anyone else get burned by a hyped-up reading accessory and regret the purchase?

Wait @gracej99, didn’t you used to SWEAR by those warm tone lights? I thought they were the best thing ever too, but after mine died in a week I’m totally with you - total waste of cash.

Saw some article the other day that said those warm tone bulbs actually use cheaper components. The yellow tint is supposed to trick your eyes into thinking the light is softer but it's really just covering up that the LED can't put out enough lumens. My buddy bought a six pack from some trendy brand on Instagram and three of them were dead within a month. I'd rather just get the basic daylight bulbs from the hardware store and save the extra cash for something that actually works.

lol i actually had the opposite problem with mine, the light was so dim i could barely read and it just made my eyes strain worse. pretty sure those warm tone settings are just a gimmick to hide how weak the LEDs are in the first place. at least you got a few uses out of yours, mine flickered on and off right out of the box like a haunted lamp.
