Just switched from plastic pots to terracotta for my pothos and wow

Had two pothos side by side for about 8 months, one in plastic one in terracotta, and the terracotta one's roots are way healthier with zero rot. Anyone else notice plastic traps too much moisture or is it just my watering schedule?

Well, "eight months isn't really enough time to prove anything definitive" - tell that to my basement full of dead pothos that rotted in plastic pots over the winter. I've been growing pothos for going on twenty years now, and I can tell you from experience that plastic might as well be a swamp. Terracotta breathes, it wicks that moisture away, and if you let the pot dry out between waterings, the roots thank you. Eight months is plenty when you've seen the same plant in plastic turn to mush in four. Just my two cents from the school of hard knocks.

Wait, twenty years of pothos and you're just now telling us this?
