Spent 20 minutes trying to save a fiddle leaf fig that was just a fake plant

I was at a thrift store in Akron last Saturday and saw this gorgeous fiddle leaf fig for $15, spent a solid 20 minutes wiping its leaves and misting it before I realized it was plastic. Has anyone else accidentally adopted a fake plant from a thrift shop?

Wipe the leaf clean and walk away like nothing happened. @rosepark is right though, you basically got a forever plant that won't judge you for forgetting to water it. Just don't try misting it again.

$15 is actually a great deal, most of those high quality fakes go for $40+ at HomeGoods. My aunt has had the same fake monstera for 8 years and it still looks perfect, just gotta dust it every few months. Better than my real plants that drama queen out if I look at them wrong.

$15 for a fake fiddle leaf fig? That's a steal even if it's plastic. I wouldn't have realized either, those newer fake plants look way too real now. I caught myself touching a fake snake plant at a garage sale last month. Felt so dumb when my finger hit that rubber texture. But hey, at least yours will never die or need water.
