My coworker swore Dave Ramsey's envelope system was the only way

Honestly, my friend Sarah from the IT desk kept pushing Dave Ramsey's cash envelope method for groceries. I tried it for 3 weeks in July and found I spent $80 less per week just by using physical cash. Has anyone else had luck with a strict cash system or did it feel too limiting?

My cousin tried the envelope system and her wallet looked like a popped biscuit can after a week.

Popped biscuit can" is the most accurate description of a budget gone wrong I've ever heard. Mine looked like that after just three days, except the cash was missing and just crumbs of shame were left. I think my wallet is more of a failed savings experiment than an actual budgeting system at this point.
