Tbh, I got so mad at my spending last week I shredded my credit cards
I was sitting in my apartment in Chicago on Tuesday looking at my bank statement and realized I'd blown $400 on takeout in one month. Anyone else ever just snap and go full cash only mode to actually see where your money goes?

I did the same thing after a $300 Amazon binge last March.

What worked for me was deleting the saved payment info from my account and making myself type the card numbers in every time. It's annoying enough that I actually think twice now before checking out.

My coworker Dave actually took a pair of scissors to his debit card after he realized he'd spent $250 on gas station snacks and energy drinks in a single month. He told me he went full cash only for two weeks and ended up saving like $80 just because he had to actually hand over bills instead of swiping plastic. I tried something similar but I just took the cards out of my wallet and left them in a drawer at home, so I couldn't impulse buy anything during the day. @emma_jones is right about the typing thing though, I did that for my saved pizza place and it stopped me from ordering at 11pm at least three times. It's crazy how much little friction adds up.
