Hit 100 pages in my bullet journal today and panicked
I didn't realize I was that far in until I counted. Now I'm worried the spine is gonna crack on me. Anyone else try to reinforce their journal mid-use?

Honestly, that spine panic is real. Are you more worried about the binding failing completely or just the cover getting all bent and ugly? Cause I feel like those are two different levels of emergency.

My copy of The Name of the Wind has been through two moves and a coffee spill and the spine is still solid. The cover is scuffed to hell but the binding holds. Honestly, I think people freak out too much about spine creases. A book that looks pristine probably never got read properly. I'd rather see a worn cover and a tight binding than a perfect cover with pages falling out. So to answer your question, I'm way more worried about the binding failing. A bent cover is just character. A broken book is useless.

Huh, I see it the other way actually. A bent cover drives me nuts because it's the first thing you see and it just looks sloppy on the shelf. Binding failure is a tragedy but at least you know it's coming and can fix or replace it before it's too late.
