Just finished my first set of shaker doors without any tearout

Been building cabinets for about 2 years now and always dreaded shaker doors because of the router tearout on the inside corners. Finally tried a trick where I climb cut the last inch on each pass and it made such a huge difference. I used a Whiteside 3/8 inch bit and took light passes. Has anyone else found a better way to handle this?

Wait, you climbed the last inch on each pass and it actually worked without blowing out the corner? I tried that same trick last month and ended up with a wicked burn mark that took forever to sand out. Maybe I need to slow my router speed down or take even lighter passes than I thought.

Climb cutting is risky business no matter how careful you are, especially on plywood or any mdf core stuff. I've had way more consistent results just using a sharp bit and going slower on the conventional passes, maybe backing it up with a chisel on the corners if needed.

Funny how @gray314's point about luck actually fits a bigger pattern I see in woodworking.
