A folding chair failure put me in the hospital during a campout
I was using a budget camping chair that snapped while I was sitting on it. The fall messed up my lower back pretty bad. I had to get X-rays and take pain meds for a week. Don't skip checking the weight rating on your gear, it's not worth the risk.

Wait, a hospital trip over a camping chair? That seems like an overreaction. @zaralane called it incredibly painful, but lots of people deal with back issues every day. It's probably just a minor strain that got played up. I've had worse from sleeping wrong and didn't need X-rays. Sometimes people just make a big deal out of nothing.

Ugh, tell me about it. Waking up stiff like a board, that sharp twinge when you bend to tie your shoes... brutal. Mine acts up after a long day on a roof, but honestly just sitting at a desk can lock it up too. Makes you want to just lie flat on the floor sometimes.
