Dropped $180 on a fancy camp stove and it died on day two

I bought this high-end propane stove from a shop in Boulder last month. First night it worked great, boiled water in like 5 minutes. Second morning I go to make coffee and the regulator just straight up failed, no flame at all. Had to eat cold granola and drink instant coffee mixed with creek water. Has anyone else had a pricey piece of gear fail on them right out of the box?

Oh man that totally sucks! I had almost the exact same thing happen with a stove I bought from REI a couple years ago. It was some fancy titanium thing that cost almost $200 and the whole valve assembly just gave up on the third trip. I was so mad because I had researched it for weeks and read all these glowing reviews. Ended up having to use rocks to balance my pot over a little twig fire just to heat up some soup. The worst part was when I got home and called customer service they basically said it was user error and wouldn't replace it. I still get annoyed thinking about it honestly. Sometimes the expensive stuff is just as fragile as the cheap stuff.

REI doesn't sell stoves.
