Hit 50 nights camped this year and I still can't decide if a hammock or tent is better for my back

Tbh I switched to a hammock after night 30 hoping to fix my stiff mornings, but now I'm waking up with a weird soreness in my shoulders instead, so which setup actually gives you a solid sleep after a long hike?

50 nights in a hammock myself last year and I had the SAME shoulder issue. Turns out my hang angle was way off - you want that thing sagging like a banana, not strung tight like a guitar string. Once I dropped my straps lower and got a proper diagonal lay, that shoulder pain disappeared. Might be worth tweaking your setup before you go back to the tent.

That "sagging like a banana" advice is EXACTLY what I needed to hear because I've been cranking mine tight thinking it helps. But seriously, how do you even find the right trees for that angle? On the trail it feels like every spot I pick has trees either too close or too far apart, and I end up compromising. Do you just walk extra miles scouting the perfect hang spot or do you make do with what's there and adjust your straps?
