Just hit 100 custom doors built in my home shop. Part of me feels like a real craftsman now, the other part thinks I'm just a guy who's really good at making rectangles.

A hundred doors is a lot of rectangles though. The basic shape is still just a flat panel in a frame. Getting them square is important, sure, but it's not exactly building a cathedral.

Yeah I used to think like that too, but after trying to make just a few doors myself I get it now. That many means you've solved all the little problems that come up, it's way harder than it looks.

You said the basic shape is just a flat panel, but that's where the real work hides. It's not just a flat piece, it's about managing wood movement so that panel doesn't crack or push the frame apart later. Making a hundred means you've figured out how to keep each one stable for years, not just square for a day.

A hundred doors is a serious milestone, that's way past just making rectangles. The real craft is in the fit, finish, and making each one square and true. That number proves you've got the process down solid.
