TIL a simple focus trick for cleaner hand saw cuts
I was trimming some pine boards yesterday and noticed my cuts were always a bit wavy. I started to really watch my hand and breathe out slowly during each push, and it made a big difference. My lines stayed straighter without needing a guide or jig. What little habits have you picked up to improve your basic cuts?

Lol, so all I needed was to breathe right? Been blaming my saw for my wavy lines this whole time. Guess I'm not as chill as I thought.

Man, I totally get where you're coming from. I used to death-grip my drill thinking more force meant straighter holes. Then one day I actually focused on my breathing while working, and my lines got way cleaner. Turns out my hands were shaking from holding my breath without even noticing. Now I catch myself doing it all the time with a soldering iron too. That little trick of just breathing smooth makes a huge difference.

That saw blade could still be part of the problem. I've seen plenty of folks get wavy cuts because they're fighting a dull blade or one that's set up wrong. Breathing helps, but blaming the tool isn't always wrong. It's usually a mix of user skill and tool condition.
