A lady in a retirement home gave me a tip I'll never forget
I was putting carpet in a room at Maple Grove Senior Living last month. An older resident, Mrs. Ellis, watched me work for a bit from her walker. When I was done, she said, 'Young man, you're the first one who didn't leave a single wrinkle by the door.' She then handed me a five dollar bill and told me to get a coffee, saying her late husband was a floor layer. It was a small thing, but it felt good. Anyone else get a random compliment from a customer that just made your day?

An old guy once said my drywall job was smoother than his head.

An old man once told me my fence work was straight as an arrow, and it still makes me smile.
