Chat with a painter last week changed how I cut in carpet
I was bitching to this painter named Dave about how my knee pads always slide around on hardwood when I'm doing doorways. He told me he uses a strip of that non-slip drawer liner stuff under his kneepads and it changed his whole day. I tried it with a $3 roll from the dollar store and honestly my knees don't slip at all now on tile or wood. Has anyone else found weird cross-trade hacks like that?

I read someone uses painter's tape on their kneepads for grip too.

Match @beng51 with some Gorilla tape instead, that stuff sticks way better and lasts longer without peeling off mid-job.

Gorilla tape sounds like it'd turn my kneepads into a permanent part of my legs. I can barely get painter's tape off without leaving little sticky bits all over the place. Last time I used it I looked like a sad, patchy robot after taking them off. My knees just want to be left alone after a long day, not wrapped up like a mummy. Maybe I'm just hopeless with anything sticky.
