inSpent $200 on a virtual staging tool and it felt like a ripoff
my buddy spent $200 on boxbrownie for his weird triangular living room and the result looked like someone had just blurred the shadows. total joke. @faithpatel i hear you on gimp though - i've been using the heal tool on my dining room photos for months. takes forever but at least it actually works. speaking of weird angles my sister tried to use that service for her kitchen which has a sloped ceiling and they just sent back the original photo with a filter slapped on it.

inSpent 4 hours obsessing over coal alignment on my offset smoker last Sunday
My neighbor once spent an entire Saturday rearranging his garage shelves because someone on a forum told him the weight distribution was off. @sagejackson, sometimes folks just need to work through a process their own way before they see the simpler path. Coal leveling has always been a "whatever works" kind of job in my experience.

inMy uncle swore by using a 12-inch knife for taping but I tried a 10-inch on a Reno job and it was way faster.
@jenny_white21 tried the six inch once and still haven't recovered from that nightmare, who hurt you with that thing?

inThought alkaline water was total hype until I tried it for 3 weeks straight
Gotta gently disagree on the bloating thing - that's usually from gut bacteria reacting to food, not tap water minerals. Placebo or not though, if the alkaline water keeps you from crashing I'd say roll with it.

inFound a quick way to check a door restrictor on a 2005 Dover Miconic
Read a tech bulletin from Dover that mentioned using a thin feeler gauge for the same job, but the laser pointer sounds way easier. @karenwest is right about the different parts, but it's nice to have a trick that works for both checks once you know the difference. The main thing is catching problems before a call back.
