Hot take: That new synthetic backing on the big job in Tempe last month was a nightmare to stretch.
It kept tearing at the tack strips, so I had to hand-sew a patch with a curved needle and extra seam tape. Anyone else run into this stuff and find a better way?

You had trouble with that backing? I actually liked it. That synthetic stuff held its shape way better than the old woven ones for me. Just had to keep the heat lower and pull slower, no big deal. Maybe your tack strips were too sharp or something. I got a clean install with zero tears.

Zero tears on that synthetic backing? My last job had three rips before I even hit the second row.

Did you ever figure out why it ripped so much, or did you just agree with wells.evan about the heat?
