Overheard a homeowner in Charlotte say they chose vinyl plank because carpet was 'too much trouble' for installers.
It made me realize we might not be explaining how straightforward a good stretch and seam can be, so has anyone found a simple way to talk clients through the process without getting too technical?

Honestly, what do you say when they still look worried after @thomas.eva's picture frame bit?

You know what's funny, I had a client last month who was scared of the noise from the power stretcher. I told her it was basically a loud knee kicker, like a tool that gives the carpet a good shove into place so it doesn't wrinkle. She thought we were going to tear up the whole floor with some industrial machine. Sometimes the sounds of the job freak people out more than the actual work.

Compare it to hanging a picture frame straight, something they've probably done. You explain the tack strip is like the nail, the pad is the wall, and the carpet just gets pulled tight and hooked on. Most people get that visual right away and it takes the mystery out of it. Maybe we make it sound like rocket science when it's more like basic DIY logic. What's a comparison you've used that clicked for a client?
