My buddy's "just call them" advice actually worked
My friend Mike kept telling me to stop emailing and just pick up the phone for late payers. Finally tried it on a $850 plumbing invoice that was 35 days past due, and the guy paid me over the phone in 3 minutes. Has anyone else had better luck calling instead of sending reminders?

Hang on, you're telling me a phone call got you paid in three minutes after waiting over a month on an email? That's wild, I honestly didn't think people still answered their phones for unknown numbers these days. Maybe I've been wasting my time with polite reminders this whole time.

Hits them with the thing nobody talks about though which is that calling creates a sense of urgency and personal accountability for the other person... email can just sit there forever but a live conversation forces them to acknowledge you and put a face to the name. Plus you can immediately pivot if they give you some excuse and work around it right then and there instead of waiting another week for a reply.
