Why does nobody talk about how garlic presses are a scam
I spent years thinking garlic presses were just a waste of drawer space until I got a free one with a knife set last month. I figured I'd give it one honest try before tossing it. I threw three cloves in there and squeezed, and the thing jammed up worse than a garbage disposal with a fork. Half the garlic stayed stuck in the holes and I spent five minutes picking it out with a toothpick. My buddy at the restaurant supply store laughed and said "just use the flat of your knife and some salt, man." He was right, that method works perfect every time and takes about ten seconds. Has anyone else found a kitchen gadget that totally let you down?

I mean, it's not like it takes up that much space anyway.

Had a friend who tossed his garlic press in the junk drawer and didn't see it for two years. When he finally found it during a move, there was a dried-up clove still stuck inside from the last time he used it. Pretty sure that press is a permanent resident now.
