I switched from a standard wire brush to a poly brush for cleaning tile liners about 6 months ago after a job in Spokane.

The old wire brush would catch and snag on every little crack, but the poly one just glides through and gets the job done in half the time, so what other tools have you guys swapped out that made a big difference?

My buddy swapped his old metal scraper for a plastic putty knife on drywall jobs. He said it stopped gouging the paper facing, which used to mean a ton of extra mud work. It sounds small, but @hannah926, saving an hour of sanding on every room adds up fast.

Okay but "made a big difference" feels like a stretch for a brush swap. I mean it's just cleaning tile, right? Maybe it's just me but I can't imagine getting that excited about a tool for scrubbing grout. Idk, seems like a pretty small win in the grand scheme of things.

Honestly, a good brush can be the difference between a 20 minute job and a two hour one. The right stiffness gets the grout clean without shredding your hands, so the win is real time and frustration saved. It's one of those things you don't get until you've done it a bunch.

Actually, that brush swap is a huge deal when you're doing a whole house. Saving ten minutes per bathroom over a week adds up to real hours back, and your hands don't feel wrecked at the end of the day. Those small wins on repetitive tasks are what make a job profitable and less miserable.
