But what about when the client still argues after signing off? Scope docs don't magically fix bad faith actors.

Yeah, @sethm58, I get that. Had one like that too. When they tried to argue, I just pulled out the signed doc, printed it, and literally circled the line item they approved. It's harder for them to pretend they didn't see it when it's right there. Ended the argument fast.

Scope docs can't fix stupid, sadly.

Had a client try that once. I set up a quick call and shared my screen, pulling up the signed doc. I read their exact words back from the approval email, then read the line from the scope. Just asked, "Help me understand the disconnect here." The silence was loud. They backed down because I made them say the quiet part out loud.
