Hot take: a plumber in Cincinnati made me change how I handle slow payers
Was chatting with him after a job two weeks ago and he mentioned he charges 2% interest after 30 days, and out of 40 regulars nobody has ever pushed back on it. I tried it with two late accounts and both paid within a week of the new invoice landing. Anyone else put a late fee in writing and actually had it stick?
So the secret to getting paid on time was hiding inside a guy who unclogs toilets all day. Of course it was. Plumbers know where all the money goes and how to stop it from leaking out, makes sense when you think about it lol. Two percent sounds tiny but it apparently hits different when people see it sitting there on the bill like a parking ticket. My favorite part is nobody pushed back on it for 40 straight regulars, which tells me most folks just pay up once they know you mean it. Guess I need to find a Cincinnati plumber to run my books now lmao.
