A client in Nashville said my website copy sounded like a robot wrote it

They sent back my draft with a note that read, 'This feels like it was made by a machine, not a person.' I started reading everything out loud before sending it, and it's made a huge difference. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made you change a basic part of your process?

I used to think manuals were all the same until I read an old one. The new ones feel like they were written by a robot that hates fun. Now I get why people miss the old writing.

Ever try reading your work backwards? It catches weird phrasing you'd miss otherwise...
