That "just say yes" advice nearly wrecked me
My buddy Dave from the freelancer group told me I should always say yes to whatever the client asked for, no matter what. He said it builds trust and gets you repeat work. So this real estate agent in Phoenix wanted me to add 15 different photo galleries with captions and custom filters for each neighborhood. I said yes even though I knew the CMS would choke on that many plugins. After 3 weeks of late nights, the site crashed on launch day and she blamed me for everything. Dave stopped answering my texts after that. Has anyone else gotten burned by the "customer is always right" mindset?

That Dave guy sounds like he never dealt with a real client before. There's a huge difference between being flexible and promising stuff that's technically impossible.

Dave from the web team actually saved us on a project last month by flagging something as impossible before we promised it to a client. I mean, sometimes hearing 'no' is way better than digging yourself into a hole you can't get out of.

Reminds me of the time my GPS told me to drive into a lake about 5 years ago.
