Had a client ask for a full rewrite after approving the outline
Last Tuesday a client gave me a big yes on a detailed outline. I spent 3 days writing the piece. Then they came back and said they wanted a completely different angle. No extra pay, just expected me to eat the hours. Has anyone else dealt with clients who change their mind after signing off?

Garcia said that, and yeah, it's true - people hate confrontation so they'll say anything to end a conversation. They figure they can fix it later or hope you'll just go along with whatever new thing they want.

A buddy of mine does freelance graphic design and told me a client said "looks great" to three different versions of a logo just to get off a Zoom call. Then they ghosted him for two weeks and came back wanting a completely new direction from scratch. He learned that "sounds good" from someone who doesn't want to be there usually just means "I'll deal with this later.

People say yes just to move on and figure the details out later, it's everywhere not just freelancing.
