Just realized our team's weekly in-person meetings kill our carbon goals

We moved to hybrid work to cut emissions, but management keeps calling us all back to the office for long meetings. This means extra commutes and building energy use that wipe out our green wins. Why do we still act like being in the same room is the only way to collaborate?

Wait, they make you commute just for meetings?

Because productivity loves a two-hour round trip.

My old office was a 45 minute drive each way and they did this all the time. I spent more time in the car than in the actual meeting room. I get what andrew_baker9 is saying about some things going faster, but it felt like a huge waste most days. They would call us in for a quick update that a simple email could have handled. It just killed my whole afternoon.

Ugh, I was totally on your side before! I thought all meetings could just be video calls. But my team tried one in-person project meeting last month and it was a game changer. Stuff that would take three emails got sorted in five minutes. Still hate the drive, but some talks are just way better face to face.
