My block in Fresno used to have 12 shade trees, now we have 3
Three years ago I could walk to the corner store in July without breaking a sweat, because the trees on our street made a full canopy. Last week the city cut down two more dead ones near the bus stop and said there is no money to replant in our zip code. Anyone else watching their neighborhood get hotter every summer while the tree list keeps shrinking?
Man, I always figured the tree thing was kind of whatever and people were just complaining to complain, but watching my own street go from shady to straight up oven changed my mind fast. Three trees out of twelve is brutal and it's only gonna get worse if nobody fights for it.
