PSA: I swapped my gas mower for a reel mower in Tucson and my grass is fine
Neighbor said I'd last a month before buying gas again, but 8 months in the lawn looks the same and I'm saving about $30 a month. Anyone else gone manual, or am I the only one pushing that thing in July heat?

I read somewhere that reel mowers actually cut cleaner than gas ones because they snip the grass like scissors instead of tearing it. That would explain why your lawn looks the same 8 months later. How often are you having to sharpen the blades though?
