Just hit 500 flawless parts on a single setup and I'm not celebrating

I thought hitting 500 parts without a rework would feel like a victory, but honestly it just makes me paranoid that the tool is about to fail and ruin my whole streak, has anyone else felt that way after a good run?

Read something similar in a trade mag recently... the paranoia is real.

Flip that worry around and see it for what it is, a win. 500 flawless parts means your setup is tuned perfectly and running smooth, not that it's about to explode. You're letting the good streak stress you out when you could just be proud of the consistency.

Buddy of mine runs a small shop doing medical device parts. Had a run of 320 some odd pieces all perfect, dead nuts on tolerance. He was so sure the machine was going to eat itself that he actually stopped production and spent half a day doing a full tear down and inspection on the spindle. Turned out his routine maintenance had just finally paid off and everything was fine. He was a little embarrassed but at least he didn't wreck a batch of titanium.
