Just came back from a Gulf platform dive...

Headed to a rig off Grand Isle last week and noticed the current was pulling way harder than usual near the base. Nobody on surface mentioned it, but I could barely hold position to check the cathodic readings. Has anyone else hit sneaky currents around those older platforms?

Wait, you really think that stretch of water is that bad? Honestly I used to hear people talk about that spot and figured they were just being dramatic, like the waves out there couldn't be worse than anywhere else. But then I watched a video a few months back of a guy getting ragdolled into the rocks and it completely changed my mind. That current pulls sideways real fast, way faster than it looks from the shore. I get why your buddy almost got hurt now, that place has zero room for mistakes.
