Picked up a trick for clearing a flooded comms unit fast by blowing into the port, works every time!

Strongly disagree with this method, and I've seen it go wrong. Blowing into a port just pushes that moisture deeper into the unit where it can cause more corrosion or a short circuit. In my experience, you're way better off letting it dry out naturally with some silica gel packs or using a can of compressed air from a safe distance. Taking the fast way can wreck the whole comms board for good.

Just stick it in rice overnight, works better.

Had a radio get soaked once. I took the battery out, left it in a warm spot for two days, and it was fine. The key is just giving it enough time to fully dry inside before you try to power it on.

Actually, had a similar thing happen last field season. What worked for me was using a little isopropyl alcohol on the port contacts with a q-tip, then letting it evaporate. It displaced the water and cleaned the contacts at the same time. Fired right up after that.
