Finally found a way to test PSUs without a multimeter on site

I was at a house in Phoenix yesterday and the PC wouldn't power on at all. Didn't have my meter with me so I remembered a trick from an old forum post - use a paperclip to jump the green wire and any black wire on the 24-pin connector. The fan spun up and confirmed the PSU was alive, saved me a return trip. Has anyone else found a quick workaround that actually saves time when you're in a bind?

Paperclip trick works great. Just make sure the PSU isn't totally dead before you grab a new one.

Heard a repair guy say that trick works maybe 60% of the time, @viola_garcia56.
