Wait, what exactly were you doing wrong? I've seen guys burn through edges trying to get them too perfect too fast.

Ever think the real problem is not knowing when to stop? Some people get stuck in a loop chasing that last tiny bit of sharpness and wreck the whole edge. It's more about patience than pressure.

Actually, I was being too careful and not taking off enough metal. Got stuck in a light polishing loop instead of setting a clean bevel first.
